Leeshaw Reservoir 0700-1000hrs Bright blue skies, sunshine, W>3
A good morning to be out but not if you,re wanting moving birds with once again near empty skies with birds taking advantage of the extra feeding conditions.
Plenty shoreline around the reservoir but the only waders were a quick sighting of a Ringed Plover which flew up into the NW corner not to be seen again. This bird was seen by Danny/Nigel yesterday, see Dannysbirds. The other wader was a young Curlew which seems reluctant to move on.
Wheatears are starting to move through with 4 picked out at a distance whilst several flocks of feeding Goldfinch were present.
A flock of ducks flew through very high to the north of me heading east but I,ve yet to try to see if I can knock the photos into shape to I.D. them.
PS. After playing about with the photos the ducks were Mallard.
