Creeping up to the lagoons hoping for the Green Sandpiper I got another surprise with a juvenile Little Grebe on the right hand pond, not a common species around here.
A low count of gulls on the water but on my way the fields were full of mainly Black Headed with 53 in Foxhill park which is unusual and c150 on the Shay below Soil Hill plus several other fields holding good numbers.
A scan through found 2 Herring gull amongst the 200+ LBBs but no Yellow Legged or Med gull. The Green and Common Sandpipers seemed to have moved on.
A brown Peregrine came low and fast over the water spooking all the gulls, many of which left after this disturbance whilst the Peregrine went over the moor trying its luck at Wood Pigeons.
At least 11 Mistle Thrushes were around and a single Curlew was calling from the moor.
