Plenty muddy shoreline showing
Ponds still holding water
Raincoats at the ready
A grey morning with strong W>5-6 and heavy rain showers throughout.
A real quiet morning with the wind too strong for vis mig this early in the season.
All the summer birds have now left the area leaving about 40 Canada geese though there are good numbers of Meadow Pipits getting ready to move. Red Grouse and Red Legged Partridge are numerous due to the amount of feed put down for them so the sad little men with guns can shoot them tomorrow on the unglorious 12th.
Otherwise it was completely dead with the Twite seed untouched and growing into a good bed of foliage.
Two Kestrels were hunting along the banking and a juv Reed Bunting was by the ponds.
The field opposite the Delvers was packed with young Crows.
