A deteriorating day with a bright sunny start then cloudy and cold by midday with some slight snow showers during the afternoon. Early evening at Ogden was becoming misty with light drizzle.
A quick after work dash to Ogden in fading light to see how many Scoters had dropped in for the night, dont laugh, it could happen but the water was deserted other than 2 Canadas and the usual Mallards.
Several songsters were up singing with Song Thrush, Robin, Wren, Dunnock and Blackbird whilst several Woodpigeons were dropping into the plantation to roost.
No sign of the Foxhill Waxwings today and now there are only about 4 Common gulls and 6 Black Headed remaining in the area, whilst 3 LBB gulls drifted over >NE very high at midday.
On a bright note, only just over a week now before the clocks go forward giving us our light evenings back and as mentioned by DJS today, Ospreys are starting to move up country so lets hope we get a better year with them this time.
