Yet another day of fog, rain and drizzle but the birds seem happy to move in these conditions.
Several Pinkies have again passed through the Calder Valley along with winter thrushes, see Calderbirds, though no sightings of geese over Queensbury.
Lunch time in Foxhill park found Fieldfare and Redwing moving >NW in small groups and high up, just below the cloud base with several Woodpigeons heading >NE. This mild weather seems to have inspired birds to start moving a month early this time.
A road test this p.m. took me past Raggalds flood, conveniently , where 11 Common gulls, 4 BHGs and the male Teal were present but no Mallard.. Hopefully , with the ground being so saturated , this area will continue to hold water towards the springtime and start to pick up waders.
Not a bad forecast for the weekend so lets hope the skies keep as active as they have been all week.
Few pics from Ogden last weekend.
