Starlings Galore

                                    Masses of immigrant continental Starlings

Need to check these pics for Waxwings

                                     Foxhill Common gull

A real mishmash of weather today with a good covering of snow late last night which had turned to rain this morning but a treacherous walk to work on black ice. Heavy rain soon passed mid morning leaving a bright day but a heavy midday hail shower managed to catch me up the park.
Masses of continental Starlings have joined resident birds around the village with large flocks moving from garden to garden, will have to check through the pics later to make sure there are no Waxwings mixed in with them.
Usual Common gulls were in the park midday along with a Pied Wagtail whilst a Fox dashed across the main rd, Ford Hill towards Hainsworth Moor mid afternoon.
Roy Morris mentioned today that as well as no Rowan berries around the area there is also a shortage of Beech nuts and Acorns.
