Distant and flighty but got them at last.
Nice female Pied Wag.
Twite didnt want to play.
Fly Flatts, evening visit 1700 - 1900hrs. icy cold NE>6 Sunny.
Fly Flatts was very quiet tonight compared to the last evening that I was up there due to the strong , cold NE wind even keeping the Curlews down.
Just 2 Twite were near the feeding station but playing shy whilst a bright female Pied Wag fed on the Nyjer.Tried to make this into an Alba but on closer inspection it was a Yarrellii.
Nothing on the water other than Mallard and Canadas but did manage a Swallow low and across the moor.
No sign of Common Sand or Wheatear at the water so went up onto the top road and was just about to give up when I saw a small bobbin bird in the grass then saw its mate close by. This pair were typical new in birds, very shy and flighty but even though its taken till the 14th April I got them on the list.
Lets see what tomorrow brings !
