Gt Crested Grebe kept with the Wigeon
A first light visit to Fly Flatts was quickly aborted after a check of the reservoir due to strong W>6 heavy mist and horizontal drizzle for the 5th Sunday running.
Ogden had heavy drizzle which ceased slightly mid morning but much calmer though very dull light.
The first birds spotted were a group of 9 Wigeon in the middle of the water which kept briefly coming ashore to graze. A Gt Crested grebe in winter outfit kept with them when they were on the water.
A fall of up to 100 Chaffinch were around the waters edge with good numbers of LT Tits, whilst 15 Redwing were flying about the tree tops.
A flock of 22 Crossbills flew over the promenade from the direction of Mixenden and landed up in the plantation and on the way home a moving flock of 85 Redwing flew >W over Perseverence Rd.
