A better day with some sunshine and remaining dry with the wind dropped to a cold W>4.
A good supply of early Meadow Pipits came over >S from first light dropping off by the time I got to work at 0745hrs. Throughout the day several squadrons of moving Starlings came over >W, most were very high in a real vis mig mode.
By midday gulls were on the move with groups of 3 to 7 LBBs all >SW, 5 Herring gulls were seen moving >W
and at 1715hrs on the way home a likely candidate for a GBB came over very high and >W but could,nt be certain without optics.
Thanks to HC this morning for the report of a ring tailed Hen Harrier through our area moving over Oxenhope, Ogden, Hunter Hill and Roils Head.
Due to Howards quick call to Claire his daughter who called me so I could pass it on to DJS , who was just getting in his car to leave Hunter Hill , he was able to see the bird passing through his watchpoint, nice one Howard!
