A decent start to the morning but quickly deteriorating bringing heavy rain by early a.m. then near gale force winds and torrential rain by late afternoon continuing into the evening. Just got in with the dogs now after being blown about and pounded with heavy horizontal rain up Foxhill.
A few small flocks of Fieldfare came over >S this morning but these could have been birds leaving a roost which is near impossible to tell at this time of year.
Just been reading DCB/HCs vis mig report from yesterday which Nigel and me shed a few tears over in the garage this morning. What an amazing day to get birds in numbers and rarety as those so close to home.
It just shows what being dedicated to a local patch can achieve , put the time and effort in and then reap the rewards.
Howard rang me about the birds yesterday and I,m glad to say that he never changes with his knowledge of the english language. This was his technical description report of the Great White Egret
