Ogden re visited, in search of the Blue Nuthatch !!!!!

15 LBB gulls on the water
Now 11 Goosander but keeping distance

And this is the big attraction, Frogs

Unlike me to take feeder shots but this was
todays mission. To prove the Nuthatches are grey
taken with Canon SLR as opposed to yesterdays
blue birds taken with Nikon P 900.

All todays pics taken with Big Bertha
 Yesterdays pics with Nikon P900.
Looks like a cross between a Blue Tit
and Nuthatch. I was gobsmacked when I saw them
how the colours had come out.

With the wind blasting from the WNW>5 I thought it best to keep low even though the sun was bright and visibility good so back to Ogden to see if the water was still performing and to try get some more shots of Nuthatch just to prove a point but more of that in a minute.
The water was rough with white horses racing across and splashing up in the SE corner making scanning difficult although most of the waterfowl had headed for the NW area where the water was calmer. Only 12 Canadas today and no sign of yesterdays 2 Tufted but I could just make out the Goosanders across the waves at the northern end.
Approaching the NW corner I stopped to have a count with now 3 males and 8 females which was 3 birds up on yesterday. It did,nt take long to find the attraction as one after the other the Goosanders moved into the NW corner one at a time, each one returning with a large frog in its bill. Little wonder that they,re hanging around with easy food on the go.
15 LBB gulls were on the water and a few Black Headeds but otherwise quiet.
I wish I,d have been there yesterday at 0815 hr when I got a report this morning at work from a customer, ( reliable source ) of an Osprey over the water at Ogden heading >NNW ish.
Thats one that slipped through the net, come on Andy, get a grip, that must have come over Northowram and probably the garage,
Back to the blue Nuthatch saga. Yesterday I took the new Nikon P900 camera to Ogden to put it through its paces. I noticed on several shots I took that colours were exaggerated even using different settings and magnification . This only occurred when the sun was on the subject but I brushed it off thinking it was a minor problem. That was until I blogged the Nuthatch photos and was gob smacked to see the colours that they came out in. Tonight I returned to Ogden with the SLR and luckily the Nuthatch appeared after 15 minutes wait so I snapped away trying to get the same blue tinge but all the shots came out in natural colours of grey.
This looks like a problem I,ll have to look into otherwise they,ll be a Nikon going cheap, meanwhile its back to carting Big Bertha around with me.
