NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Soil Hill p.m.

1st summer LBB gull getting mobbed by Lapwings

Down the bottom over the Shay
                                         Meadow Pipit numbers rising.
                                 A good show of Skylark.

Considering the law of averages of dips and sightings on the hill I am due a mega up there so late afternoon off I went on a low expectancy trip.
Conditions overhead were good with blue skies and sunshine and excellent visibility but on the down side a howling WNW>6 gusting 7 was blowing but you can,t have everything.
A check of the summits , tree line and Ring Ouzel clough provided the usual sp. although 4 Grey Partridge was a good find instead of the usual 2.
Several Swallows were heading >N ground hogging and my first House Martin of the year was pleasing.
An evening dog walk at Ogden just down and across the prom ,as Lynda came along and was,nt impressed with her hair blowing out horizontal, failed to turn anything up like a Little Egret which would be nice. The two I found at EGP was on my May day bank holiday Monday 5/5/2003, eck, where does time go , that 13 years seems like last year.

This is a cutting from the Halifax Courier from the time along with species list winner AC and presenter GD.
