Oxenhope Reservoir ( Members Only ).

Good to see Mark Doveston and his followers up there.

Out of range pics but showing Plover and conditions
Redshank in pools beyond the reservoir
Plovers on the island, scoping job.
Plenty shoreline north end but birds favour
the SW shoreline which means a longer walk.

Thinking of checking Soil Hill late afternoon but with waders and Terns on the move I thought I,d better stick to reservoir watch so off to Oxenhope for a return visit.
Not as many gulls present with several already moved off to roost but waders were livelier with some new in as well as a Gt Crested Grebe on the water which was,nt present yesterday.
Swallows and Swifts were piling through taking advantage of the midges about in calm conditions although by the time I was leaving the wind had increased to N>3.
Good to bump into Mark Dovestone and his boys up there and catch up on old times from the last 10 or more years since we last met.
