Mega for Fly Flatts, G.N.D.

Great Northern Diver at half a mile away

Familiar figure of Keith Moir down by the water.

A call at lunch time today from an excited Nigel Kerwin to say he,d found a Great Northern Diver at Fly Flatts but was running short of credit and couldnt get a text through to DJS.
I rang DJS to roust the cavalry only to find he was in a bad reception area so after trying several more numbers all met by answer machines I managed to get HC to alert the Bradford side and then DJS got back to me and alerted the Halifax lads.
For me to get to Fly Flatts after tea was out of the question but after getting Lyndas medicine down double quick and breaking all records, and a few speed limits , I arrived at Fly Flatts and got onto the bird almost immediately although with no time to trek down to the water I had to make do with out of range, distant shots from the top road but never the less, there it was , a site tick for me and a great record for Fly Flatts.
Nice to meet Graham,GWH from the Cromwell Bottom group up there and have a word whilst Keith Moir was down near the water about to trek back up the track.
Well done to NK for his sharp eye picking out the bird and getting the call out quickly.
