Common Scoter for Ogden

                        Adult male Common Scoter

Out this afternoon giving Lynda some therapy in the way of shopping when a call came from Keith Moir telling me of a Common Scoter on Leeshaw reservoir. Now this put some urgency in the shopping trip with a plan to get over there at tea time with a hope of seeing it.
Shortly afterwards a text came from birder blog watchers Angela and Gary telling me of a Common Scoter on Ogden.
Luckily Lynda had got what she wanted so it was home then on to Ogden with a fall back plan that if the bird had left I,d shoot over to Leeshaw.
Luckily the Ogden bird was still there but, as always with Scoters was right in the centre of the water making any decent pics an impossibility.
Thanks to KM for the call and well spotted and thanks for the text to Angela and Gary, shame I missed you.
This could be the same bird from Leeshaw or we have 2 Scoters in the area.
Started the week with a Great Northern Diver and finished on a Common Scoter, who said local birding is boring.
