Pinkies on the move, Soil Hill

Got the family bit done in good time so the idea was to do a circuit of Ogden followed by Soil Hill but as I approached Ogden there were hundreds of cars with all the new year nugget walkers who don on their designer gear and ordnance survey maps for their once a year walk round Ogden. A quick about turn and back to the peace and quiet of Soil Hill.
The weather had by now turned atrocious with a strong WNW>6 gusting 7 and heavy rain showers blowing from the west across the moor.
A full trudge about the whole of the summits found nothing until a welcome grapevine report from AC via DJS saying a skein of Pink Footed Geese had just flown over Northowram >NW which was my direction.
A quick dash onto the highest point and a scan through the bins found them well to the south of me over Ringby, c50 heading more west and moments later another message from DJS saying he had got them over Lee Mount and NCD had clocked them over Mount Tabor.
Unfortunately as I was watching them in the distance a rain cloud came over and they were lost from view but a good sighting for New Years day and all thanks to the grapevine, well done for tthe prompt messages Andy and Dave.
Going by this sighting the 3 geese I got this a.m. probably were Pinkies.
As I was coming away I flushed a single Skylark which was probably the bird that spooked NK the other day having a very white underbelly.
