Whinchat at last

                                    Kessie coming in to land

Worlds worst ever Whinchat shots but mega distance away

An early evening check on Old Guy Rd for Denises Redstart found nothing so off to Ringby Top.
Yesterdays Wheatears had moved on but Swallows and House Martins were moving over >W in their hundreds with 3 Kestrels harrassing them.
Suddenly a call from NK, whos PC has gone pear shaped so he will be off the air a few days, saying that hawkeyed Denise had found a Whinchat in Old Guy Rd just above where Id been looking so a quick dash down the hill and back to the original venue.
After a few minutes looking, right into the setting sun, ( I hate sun), I located the Wheatear but not the Whinchat but luckily Denise arrived and soon turned it up letting me see it in her scope briefly before losing it again. Again here the skies were full of Hirundines plus a Sparrowhawk drifting through.
With time up I went home, fed and walked the dogs then went back through the fields and found the Whinchat again but very distant and very flighty.
Many thanks to Denise for finding the bird and thanks to Nigel for the call getting me my first Whinchat this year.
