Soil Hill / Ogden

Pleasing to see and hear Willow Warblers

                                     The old faithful Goldeneye

An early evening visit to Soil Hill found DJS just leaving after over an hours watching and coming away empty handed so I was,nt full of enthusiasm as I set off up the hill.
After 1 hour Id got 11 Linnet, 2 Pied Wagtail and the usual Mipits and Skylarks so once again I found myself having to move on to rescue the trip.
Down at Ogden the usual lager drinking nuggets were there seeing who could shout the loudest, why do they go to places like this when they could do just the same in their own garden.
The usual birds were present and several Swallows were moving over >N.
Late afternoon today whilst up Foxhill park dog walking the unusual sighting of a Merlin came steaming over my head >S in a real head down moving mode totally ignoring the Swallows present.
All this trekking about today and the bird of the day was by my own back garden.
Lets see what tomorrow brings and hope the forecast is wrong.
