Hard work birding.

 Common, BHG, LBB gulls, Ogden

Unusual to get BHGs on the water, Fly Flatts
Skies over Foxhill, last light dog walk.

A real full day today with work this morning, shopping in Halifax this afternoon, Fly Flatts late afternoon then home to wallpaper a living room wall before off again to Ogden 1900 hrs and home and up the park for Pippa to play ball last light.
It seems to me our birding habitat reservoirs are slowly being taken over with Fly Flatts full of the public that had climbed the fence and were down by the water.
Mixenden, on passing ,was full of undesirables fishing, not anglers , just idiots chucking beer cans in the water. Ogden was the same even at 1900 hrs with the sort of people you dont want to get the camera out in front of. Bring on the bad weather which always does the trick, especially at Fly Flatts.
Bird wise it was poor but surprised to find 10 Black Headed gulls on the water which is unusual for this site. Two Wheatears were distant and a Raven cronked over the Nab.
Nothing at Nab Water Lane other than 1 male Reed Bunting whilst Ogden this evening had a low number of the usual gulls which were all starting to leave to roost along with 1 Cormorant. The 2 Teal were still present but way out in the centre of the water silhouetted by the low sun.
No sign of Redstart at the Roper Lane site but well found to DJS for a pair at Ogden in the usual annual area.
Also well spotted yet again to HC for a nice September Swift from his Oxenhope watch point this morning.
