A mid June day at Leeshaw

The only sky movement, 2 of the above.

Heron with juv and Oyk on the banking
Highly over exposed Little Owl in Oxenhope

Leeshaw reservoir 1530 hrs. 50% cloud cover and plenty of the dreaded hot stuff with a light S>4.
A typical mid June day with all birds getting on with family stuff
and nothing on the move. A bit of a worry with 2 fields that were full of Lapwing and Curlew chicks that have today been mown with still plenty chicks in a third short grassed field along with at least 1 Lapwing still sitting. A Curlew was on the reservoir banking with a chick nearby in long grass.
Nine Oystercatchers present and a newcomer Heron with juv.
A distant Sparrowhawk was the only raptor otherwise it was down the the usual species as well as 1 Cormorant , 2 LBB gulls and 1 BH gull.
Two RAF jets came steaming low over the moor towards Fly Flatts which lifted all the Lapwings.
Nice to bump into a blog watcher birder from Liversedge who was doing the rounds and just on his way to Fly Flatts.
On the way back below the Dog and Gun I spied a Little Owl on the wires so anchoring on I grabbed the camera out of the back and snapped some quick shots before it dropped into the field. Unfortunately the camera had the settings from Leeshaw and blinkies were flashing away at me on the view finder but no time to adjust so ended up with over exposed pics.
