                                                 Leadbeater Dam.

1500 hrs at Cold Edge Dams found it with very dark skies and heavy drizzle on a light SSW>4.
No Canadas or Barnacle geese in the fields with just 6 Canadas on the water as well as 2 Greylag.
Along with  the geese Leadbeater Dam held 1 pr Tufted, 1m and 3 f Goldeneye plus a few Mallard whilst 4 Curlew were mobile in the grey drizzly skies. A Heron was in the swampy SW corner on frog watch.
Not a good day for the maiden voyage of the Nikon P 900 bridge but it seemed to cope with the conditions ok although, as with all bridge cameras, the flight shots leave a lot to be desired but its early days yet and in the wet and poor light the flight shots were acceptable if not publishable.
A good window in the weather over the continent tomorrow which could get some migrants flooding in. Could be a Wheatear or two about in the coming week.
