Blackout

A bright moonlit start to the day but by 0630 hrs the fog had rolled in getting thicker as the day went on until it was dense by mid afternoon and even Halifax was murky and grey.
Its not often that I abandon a birding session but today was a real no go so got roped in to some Christmas present wrapping which put me in mind of some Christmas presents from the past:-

Pinkies over Queensbury Xmas eve 2015.

Good numbers of  Canadas   Ogden Xmas day  2015

Gt Northern Diver  Xmas day  2014

Snow Buntings Soil Hill  Xmas eve 2011

                         Christmas day 2011

                                 and Boxing day  2011

a frozen Ogden   Christmas day  2010
And finally to show birds enjoy Christmas
The Common gull Boxing Day dip.        Looks cold
                                            Here we go
                                           Freezing
