Restoring my faith in local birding!

With 1 hour to spare this evening a check of the weather found it clammy, still and humid which is no good for Tern movement but an ideal night for Owls.
With Long Eared Owl in mind I set off around the known local hotspots and after a lot of scrambling about and searching , up popped the prize. Its not a good idea to be knelt in nettles and brambles up to your shoulders whilst trying to support a half a ton camera but the rewards  were worth it, or will be when the stinging stops.

Local birding dont get better than this.

Wonderful pictures of a great bird Brian, one Danny and I have yet to see.
Thanks for the card, I see there are plenty birds to keep a look out for though I don't think we'll venture out late evening looking for one of the rarities.N.P.
