Leeshaw/ Fly Flatts

Herons move in to Leeshaw  1 of 5

A good breeding year for Greylag.
     Leeshaw, at least 6 Oystercatchers

Fly Flatts  315 countable Canadas, still sev on the moor
Family of noisy Crows over Fly Flatts.

                               Usual scene at Fly Flatts

Hen Harrier and Barn Owl appeared yesterday on
 my birthday but not tickable.

Thick fog this a.m. not clearing until 0845 hrs and then dropping down into the bottoms leaving the high ground bright and sunny.

Nothing excitable at either site but Leeshaw holding good numbers of Heron and Oystercatchers.
Fly Flatts had yet another wrecked car and whilst I was parked near the quarry 3 cars came racing each other at top speed, at one point 2 abreast, trying to force each other off the road.
Looking like I,ll be avoiding the narrow road from Leeshaw to Fly Flatts on a Sunday morning in future, wouldnt want to meet those coming the opposite way.
Its a shame that a nice place like Fly Flatts has to be declared a war zone.

Leeshaw res.
