Hat trick, another raptor type on the move. Soil Hill

                                   Long Eared Owl

                                                      600 mm

With an hour off from the decorating tonight for good behavior it was up to Soil Hill at 1830 hrs
with hopes of the pair of Ring Ouzels seen earlier in the day by NK.
After a breathtaking dash down to the bottom of the tree line and back then down Ring Ouzel Clough and back no luck and getting very short of breath with the light fading.
Luckily a commotion of Meadow Pipits drew my attention to this stonking Long Eared Owl which did a circuit of the hill.
This moving bird is possibly the same one that stopped for a few days during the autumn. Not a bad start to the weekends birding and I don,t mind getting back to the decorating as much now.
