Corporal Hill Skywatch

   Looking South from Corporal Hill
Looking west over the muck heap, an attraction to birds
      Amazing views over the valley
                  Emley Moor on the horizon.
         Looking North to Queensbury church
   Looking WNW to Withins

The beauty of living in Queensbury, whichever part of it you visit the views are amazing, when its not foggy that is.

Just time at midday for 15 minutes sky watch from the top of Corporal Hill whilst visibility was good before back to work.
A good move of gulls >N over Shibden Valley with 18 LBBs, 3 Herring and 6 Commons which were a bit of a surprise.
7 Lapwings headed >S dropping down into Northowram whilst a Heron headed >S very high.
Several Meadow Pipits were around the muck heap along with 2 Pied Wagtails and a Green Woodpecker was calling from down in Shibden Valley. Would you believe I have,nt had a Woodpecker of any sort this year yet.
Hundreds of corvids were in the new mown fields around the area.

7 Canadas went noisily over Shelf Moor this evening heading for the roost field.
