Soil Hill Skywatch

                                            Looking >N over Oxenhope res.
Looking across a hazy Causeway Foot col
Poor visibility to the north east
         Still some attractive scrapes
Twite feeding area but as with other sites
                                                          no joy.
                                            Johns feeding stone.

A 1500-1600 hrs sky watch from the west summit of Soil Hill produced very little in the murky visibility down to about 20 mile, the east being the worst direction and not enough wind to move it with a slight S>3.
Swifts were plentiful along with a few Swallows all drifting >N whilst Lesser Black Backed gulls filtered through the Causeway Foot col heading >NE.
A Sparrowhawk and 2 Kestrels went quick and low >S through the col.
A flock of 8 Goldfinch headed >W towards Ogden and a Buzzard was see briefly soaring over the Baildon area only to be lost in the mist.
Down on the ground several Skylarks and Meadow Pipits were present along with 4 Feral pigeon.
2 Moorhen were down on the NK pond and a single Dunlin was interesting flitting about on the moor beyond Foreside Lane.
Nothing special but enough to keep me watching for the hour which isn,t bad for June.
Thanks to JL for keeping up to the Nyjer seed with me this season.
