Skies Alive over Soil Hill

                                 Ist Swift over
                 Then about another 40 >N
                 Plenty LBB gulls

                                     As well as Herrings
                                        More Swifts
   1 of 2 Cronking Ravens

A late afternoon visit to Soil Hill gave plenty to keep the taste buds going with good numbers of Herring and LBB gulls over >NW and whilst I was checking these out I came across my first Swift of the year, followed by another , then another, leaving me with a count of around 40 >N in one hour along with swallows and House Martins.
Two noisy Raven did a high circuit of the hill, heavily mobbed by Carrion Crows , before leaving towards Ogden / Fly Flatts. One of these birds was also picked up at Cold Edge Dams by PS.
Nothing on the deck low down due to numbskis on quad and trials bikes so no chance of NKs Sedge Warb.
A dozen Canadas flew from the Shay fields towards Ogden, otherwise it was down to Mipits, Skylarks and 2 Curlew.
Looking like sad news on the Lapwing chicks in the way of survival as all Lapwings have now left the area .
