Active skies around Queensbury

Black Dyke Mill chimney at sunrise
This Black Headed thinks spring is nearly here
Plenty BH gulls scavenging for food

     Collared Dove in the Alders
Up to a dozen Blackbirds around Foxhill Park.

A bright but cold day with temperatures never going above 1 degree in the garage all day and no signs of thawing outside.
The skies were alive throughout the day starting with a early morning flow of Herring gulls and LBB gulls sauntering through >WSW followed mid morning by 12 Fieldfare in the same direction.
Someone behind the garage threw some bread out and immediately around 30 Black Headed gulls appeared reeling round and diving down near the bread but not daring to land.
By the time they,d finished thinking about it the Magpies had been and cleared the lot, makes me wonder how they ever feed being so nervy.

During lunch time in Foxhill park around a dozen Blackbirds were present along with 3 Collared Doves and the usual House Sparrows.

Afternoon was a bit quieter with a Grey Wagtail over as well as the usual resident sp.
Not much birding time tomorrow with a rush to get work done in the morning and possibly a full afternoon with Lynda at the hospital for a feed pipe renewal, but I,m sure I,ll find a bit of something.

Seen from the garage today
19 Herring gulls
28 LBB gulls
12 Fieldfare
1 Grey Wagtail
+ the usual sp.

Thanks to all for taking me over the 500,000 page views.

Good luck tomorrow - at least the weather forecast is for a dry day.
