WANTED, Winter Wildfowl !

                                            Stream below Leeshaw
                                   Rapids, Leeshaw overflow
                              Leeming, nowt but Mallards
                      1 of 3 Cormorant, Ogden
                          A grey Ogden
               A well full Raggalds Flood
                  Commons waiting for the thaw.

A tour of the local waters this morning in atrocious  conditions with a strong W>6 later turning S>4 and low cloud with heavy drizzle turning to rain. Daylight did,nt really break until 0830 hrs so the first hour was a struggle in partial dark.
Surprisingly no winter wildfowl around other than 2 Wigeon which decided against landing at Leeshaw and continued  >W.

Lower Laithe  0730 hrs, still part dark.

Leeming  0900 hrs  rain.

Ogden  0915 hrs  dull and damp Check from prom only.

Raggalds Flood  0945 hrs brightening. Still frozen over
