Only time for the Raggalds Flood

                 Count of 38 Lapwing
                    Count of 23 Mallard

Back home after a hectic afternoon shopping with the grand daughters and already approaching dark at 1500 hrs due to it being such a grey day with low cloud hanging until after dark when the wind picked up to SW>6 clearing the skies.
Just time to check the Raggalds Flood before the visibility got any worse and surprised to find the Lapwing count up to 38 now with 23 Mallard also present. The water seems to be holding now so hopefully we,ll get a nice Christmas present dropping in.

Today was Winter Solstice ( first day of winter and the shortest day ), so we,re going the other way now with daylight slowly lengthening . Lets hope the saying " As daylight lengthens cold strengthens", comes true and we can enjoy some wildlife on our reservoirs.
Also sad mans grouse season is at an end so Fly Flatts may start to provide again.
