Queensbury Tawny Owls

The 2 back in their winter roost
Took a bit of finding today
Tucked well in out of the wind

                                       Sleepy red eye

A quick dash at lunch time to see if the Queensbury Tawny Owls were about after being told by the land owner that they were back. With only 15 minutes to spare I thought I was going to have to leave without seeing them but a bit more eye straining paid off when I spotted them tucked well in the foliage out of the wind. This is the 4th year they,ve been present for winter always disappearing over the summer breeding time and returning in November.

Well done to Bradshaw John today for the amazing discovery of a Black Redstart between Oats Royd and Bradshaw. See Johns blog for report and photos.
