Early morning Fieldfare, 5 Swallows over Queensbury and a quiet Ogden

                                            2nd winter Common gull
Was Ogden reservoir, now Ogden pond

A breezy morning but a bright start soon clouding over but staying dry.
One again the Thrush Rush never happened with 4 flocks of Fieldfare in total seen over the garage >S adding up to around 250 birds along with around 100 Woodpigeons.
A call from HC was a surprise to hear of 5 Swallows over them at Oxenhope heading for Queensbury and although I shot out in the car park nothing was seen. A good late record Howard, well spotted.

After a report this morning from Pete Grba of 7 Whooper Swans on Withins Clough I thought it was worth a teatime dash to Ogden to check the water but on arrival all was quiet. It was only1530hrs but very dark conditions with black clouds and heavy drizzle moving across.
Just the usual species were there so after a good scan from the prom it was home to wash the conservatory windows as promised before dark. At least it got me to see the scores of Jackdaws coming over the house heading for the Wilsden roost.

Sounds like a wet and windy forecast for tomorrow but we,ll see. Down to 1 camera at the moment with the Canon 7d going pear shaped so took it to Brighouse to the camera vet today who said he would send it away for an estimate, don,t like the sound of that ,but he says its a 2 week turn around whereas Janet Greens in Halifax said up to 9 weeks.
My other camera Canon SX 50 is great for still shots but  too slow for flight shots.
