Celebration Day

Not bird wise but the last of Lyndas 6 week run of radiation at Leeds. A slow process now recovering from the horrific side effects but at least its a big step forward.

A check of Raggalds Flood for Yellow Wag at 0630hrs proved wasted with the fog so thick I could,nt see across the field. Otherwise the rest of the day was spoken for with Leeds and work so very little to report.
LBB gulls were flowing steady over the village midday all >NW and Swallows were showing in good numbers but no House Martins as yet.
Almost May now so more or less everything that,s coming back should be back so all we have to do is find them. Last years Raggalds Flood Yellow Wagtail arrived on the 17th of May so hopefully we,ll be getting one dropping in anytime.

Hi,
I've been following your blog for some time now.
I am a new 'twitcher' but I have taken to it big style. I really enjoy the photography side of it too.
I went up to Shelf Moor yesterday and got a really good clear photo of a skylark.
I struggle a little to identify some of the locations to which you refer, i.e. Shelf Moor trailer park, the Juncas field, etc. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction.
PS I have managed to find the Raggalds flood.
Thanks Brian,
Bob F

Hi Bob, Thanks for taking an interest in my blog. As you say, its easy to get hooked with birding and photography.
The trailer park field we refer to is , as you head from Queensbury traffic lights towards Shelf roundabout there is a large layby on the left where wagons usually park up.If you pull into the layby you can view the field at the side and the juncus field is next to it.
Both fields are private but a very boggy footpath goes down between the two.
