Curlews back in force

                                              Curlews back in numbers

                         several scattered around surrounding fields
                                        return of the Oystercatchers

A look at Leeshaw reservoir late afternoon in awful conditions with heavy rain and drizzle, low cloud and a strong WSW>5 found it, despite the weather, as described by Dannys birds yesterday, very spring like.
The fields were full of Lapwings displaying and noisy Oystercatchers and Curlews were scattered around the fields.  After a trudge about in the mud searching the outer fields a good count was obtained.
The water was poor with one Cormorant and the usual small gulls and Mallards.

58 Curlew
11 Oystercatchers
100+ Lapwing
