Whooping good day

                                 24 Whoopers on Mixenden Reservoir

DJS and Jen enjoying the moment

With a poor trip around Queensbury south at lunchtime producing just 1 Little Owl and a couple of Mistle Thrush tonights blog was looking grim until an afternoon phone call from leading fireman Craig Mallinson asking me if I knew about the swans on Mixenden reservoir, which is near Craigs house. He said they looked like swans but had yellow bills which made me throw my spanners on the bench ready to send out the text but when he said there was 24 panic set in. Kindly, Peter at work told me to get off and see them so it was a dash down for NK and over there arriving the same time as Jen and Dave S.
After a quick photo session it was back to work with a grin from ear to ear.
Thanks again for the call Craig and thanks to Peter for giving me compassionate leave to see them.
