Ogden/ Roper Lane and Mipits on the move.

Two out of seven Little Grebe remain at Ogden.

                                  Lesser Black Backed coming in
                                                     juvenile Common gull
In to land, 1 ring showing
                                             Both rings visible
This Black Headed gull was ringed in Germany and is now 3 years old. The gull was sighted at Ogden several times over last winter and was found again yesterday by DS. After checking through about 100 BHGs this evening it came in to land  on the overflow railings.

Meadow Pipits have been moving throughout the day from first light until last light this evening with a continuous flow >S of small groups of 5 to 10 birds.

Of the 7 Little Grebe only 2 are remaining today and are constantly diving and feeding.
Around 100 Black Headed gulls were present along with 4 Lesser Black Backed and 8 Commons with the usual Mallards.
Apart from Meadow Pipits overhead passerines were none existent probably due to the number of people about this afternoon driving the birds further into the wood.
