Report of Stonechat, Queensbury old station.

Some photos of last years Stonechats from around the Ogden area.   BS

                                              A good breeding year

A cooler ,damp day with wind increasing late pm to SW>5 and light rain.
A report today from a customer, of a male Stonechat showing well near Fall Top, Queensbury Station which used to be a good area years ago along with Redstart and Yellowhammer, lets hope the latter makes a come back.
A nice surprise before work this morning to find 2 Goldfinch on the garden feeders, a first for the feeders with just one or two briefly landing in the garden bushes over the years.
Well done yet again to the Calderdale firefighters for working relentlessly near Baitings reservoir fighting the now annual moorland fires during the breeding season .
Spoke to a leading firefighter at the garage today and he was saying what a job they,ve had trekking across the moor with beaters to get out the flames, most of them working double shifts.
