Ogden/ Back Lane

      Threatening silhouette overhead, Sparrowhawk

More Willow Warblers from passerine alley.

                                         One for the ladies  Ahhhh.

Redshank and Lapwing on the far shore, Raggalds flood.

A better late afternoon with cloudy skies but bright and calm.
A trip to the Tree Pipit site at Ogden gave me an expected dip so it was down to play dodge the crowds on passerine alley where just the usual Tits and Willow Warblers were present. No sign yet of Blackcap or Garden Warbler, probably because DJS has them all in his garden.
A Sparrowhawk soared briefly overhead and 2 Greylags landed on the water but only stayed for a few minutes before continuing west, an unusual sight for Ogden.

Back Lane was quiet other than the usual Lapwings and Curlews with several Goldfinch and Chaffinch in the plantation.
Raggalds Flood was interesting with 1 Redshank and 1 Lapwing present till 2 Carrion crows landed on the southern shore flushing 2 female Wheatear and 1 male Reed Bunting, the latter being a first for me this year.

Just got text from Peter Turner with report of a Wheatear near Stocks Lane, Clayton Heights Qby. A good sighting at an usual location.
