Small gulls moving through

                          Common almost in summer plumage
Black Headeds now with summer hoods.

A rare sight in Queensbury, Commons in summer plumage

Still some winter speckles on head.

A bitterly cold but dry day with temperatures only rising slightly above freezing and the easterly wind going through you , a typical Queensbury lazy wind.
A good passage of small gulls was apparent this morning with Commons and BHGs going through in good numbers all >NE and several had stopped off in Foxhill park at midday.
Unusual to see Common gulls in Queensbury in summer plumage as they have usually moved on whilst still sporting speckled heads.
Three LBB gulls went over the garage mid morning very high and >E whilst Woodpigeons are beginning to move around.
Forecast sounds a bit grim for the weekend with a promise of plenty snow before weve even got rid of the last lot but its always said by Queensbury folk, another load has to come to take the first lot away.
If this carrys on we,ll be having a white Easter, and not for the first time.
