Ogden, Whoopers gone.

                                     Goldeneye in the snow

                                       Canadas.

Another full day of thick fog in the village and constant steady snow getting worse by late afternoon when it started settling well.
Chris King kindly rang me midday to let me know that the Whoopers were still at Ogden but still in the middle of the water in thick fog so when we got back from town off I went at 1500hrs with camera and tripod to get some better shots.
As I dropped down Ned Hill I found Ogden to be below the cloud base but snowing lightly, so I though, ideal, now to get some better pics. WRONG. Obviously when the fog lifted so did the birds leaving an empty reservoir other than 2 Canada geese, 1 m Goldeneye and the usual Mallards.
A walk around the perimeter produced a few small gulls and the usual tits, Robins and Dunnocks and by 1545hrs the snow was coming down heavy and the fog had returned, was I glad Id gone last night and got the Whoopers.
Dread to think what conditions we,ll be getting up to in the morning.
