More Whoopers for Ogden but not for me.

Ogden in the snow this evening

A day of grey skies, snow showers and very few birds throughout the day so when I briefly put the computer on after tea and saw sedrakes entry on Calderbirds for 7 Whoopers at Ogden I thought it was worth a shot although it was 1810 hrs, part dark and snowing so it was grab the camera bag and head for the door.
Five minutes later I was looking across an empty reservoir, the birds had flown even though I was sure they,d have settled for the night. On the plus side a pair of Goldeneye were on the water which were new in from yesterday and the Song Thrush was singing away from behind the info centre.
This year has been the best for a long time for local Whoopers dropping in.
A few Meadow Pipits came over the garage early on this morning all >NE and nice to get a visit from Jen and DJS to the garage this p.m. , sorry I could,nt spend longer talking to you Dave.
