Blizzards for Queensbury

A bright clear start on the walk to work

                                    Snowy side of the chimney
                                   A barren Foxhill Park midday
Plenty berries in the Baptist graveyard
                                 p.m. starting to snow
                                Snowing half crowns
                                    Blizzard conditions
                                    Job stopped

A bright start to the morning after overnight snow which had now frozen. Snow showers continued throughout the morning but just after midday the serious stuff started. Heavy snow all afternoon soon stopped the main road and visibility was so bad due to blizzards by the Raggalds the police closed it down for a while then an accident by Chapel St shut the rest of it off.
By 1600 hrs the snow turned to sleet and rain so hopefully it will be on its way by tomorrow.
Just the usual birdwise with a rush to the feeders early a.m. with gulls, Starlings , Magpies and even Woodpigeons coming down for scraps thrown from a house near the garage .
On the plus side, its almost light when Im walking home at 1715hrs so we can soon get some evening birding in.
