Queensbury, back to earth with a bang.

                                                  1st Winter Common gull
The small oddball Common (left) still in summer plumage
                                               Odd or what
                                          Mixture of small gulls

BHGs  right hand bird still with most of its summer hood.

After a cracking weekends birding it was back to reality today with quiet skies and just the Foxhill small gull flock to watch at lunch time.
The small possible runt Common was again present still sporting full summer plumage and much less than the others.
A near miss just before midday when 60 Pinkies went >NW over Cold Edge dams, firstly reported by DJS and then NK from Soil Hill. A check on Leeshaw today by NK proved negative on the Barnacle geese looking as if they have moved on.
