First snow for Queensbury

                                          Chapel Lane first light

A snowy scene at work, Colditz castle.
                                       Foxhill Park, lunch time.

A bright and sunny day with good visibility but a real face biting N>4 and temperatures rarely rising above freezing.
The feeders in the garden are going down at a great rate of knots at the moment with peanuts, fatballs , seed , niger and suet pellets being topped up twice daily mostly taken by House Sparrows with up to 30 present at certain times. Keeping the water thawed is a full time job but necessary in these conditions.
Quiet on the bird scene with everything busy feeding up ready to face the nights sub zero conditions, even the Common gulls had deserted the park midday as the ground was frozen solid .
Bad news from NK today with bulldozers moving back onto the summit at Soil Hill just as the Snow Buntings are due, its just a matter of waiting to see if the habitat is going to be destroyed or improved.
