A near miss on the Pinkies.

A real birdie morning first thing with nothing special for me but one of those days when the sky is full of birds.
Common gulls, corvids and Magpies were everywhere with a larger than normal number of Blue Tis in the garage area.
A few Mipits trickled over but looking like we,re near to the end with them now after a disappointing autumn move lacking those mega mornings.
Wood pigeons continued to move >S and 3 Alba Wagtails headed >W.
Then came a call from DJS saying 100+ Pinkies were over Oxenhope heading in my direction, down with the spanners and into the car park with camera at the ready. As I was alerting NK the landline rang with HC telling me the Skein was over Mountain heading straight towards me 105 strong. I now had landline in one hand, mobile in the other as well as the camera ready waiting for the shot of the week when HC said ,they,re veering >E over Thornton and then Bradford, which meant within 2 minutes before they came in to sight they were lost behind the buildings. Oh well, back to work but thanks for the calls DJS and HC, its good to know that whilst my head is stuck under a bonnet the skies are being watched and Im still in with a chance of a sighting.
