No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Triple Dip day

                                        Willow Warblers everywhere.

The first dip was a drive around Green Lane hoping for pics of the Green Woodpecker family unfortunately during torrential rain and a thunder storm. The only species found here were two keen photographers, Shereen and Diane looking rather bedraggled under their brollys, full marks for being keen girls.
The storm passed over so it was off to Ogden on a Whinchat hunt which after walking waste deep through soaking wet bracken and ski ing down a muddy wet path I managed to dip nicely on the Whinchat even after waiting near to an hour in the area. Thanks to NK for directions.
The third dip was the Spotted Flycatcher family seen previously by both Nigel and Denise but no sightings for me today.
The valley by the Whinchat area was alive with birds but very difficult to get any pictures with birds darting in and out of the bracken.
Willow Warblers were everywhere and for a brain blank second I thought Id got a female Pied Flycatcher which turned out to be a female Blackcap.
This valley is the place to pick up migrant passerines this autumn.

11 Willow Warbler
1f Blackcap
17 Goldfinch
5 Linnet
1 Blackbird
1 juv Robin
Several Woodpigeons on the Bilberries.
11 BHGs on the reservoir.
