The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Hail, sunshine, wind and rain. A typical Queensbury day.

Queensbury mud flatts, the rugby field.

A real variety of weather today starting with strong SW>6 which dropped by midday. Some bright sunny intervals, then by early afternoon came torrential rain showers and a hail storm which left the car park white over for a short time.
Heavy overnight rain left the rugby field awash which suited the local gulls comprising mainly of Commons with a few Black Headeds. One LBB made an attempt at landing only to lift off again and head off >N.
At lunch time 6 Collared Doves were back around the park annoying the resident white wingbarred Carrion Crow.
Fingers crossed for the weekend with target birds, Black Redstart, Med gull and Waxwings, ok, you can stop laughing now !.

Go for it Bri - and get all three!

I'm out of touch this last 2 weeks as been busy with other things after the RLB at Buckstones so hope to get going a bit again next week. Mind you the weather this autumn has been bad with that mist hanging round all the time.

I`ve stopped setting myself target birds, Brian. That way, i don`t feel disappointed (well, not as much) when i don`t see anything.
All the same, good luck this weekend.
