The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Vis mig slowdown

Good conditions this morning but very little moving over the village.
Greenfinch were the bird of the day with 6 early groups of 5,7, 4,8,6 and 2 but this was all over by 0715hrs with empty skies there after.
Shelf Moor this evening just before last light held 4 Swallows feeding over the pond and a single Wheatear in the gorse field which looked a real bruiser of a bird both big enough and bright enough to be a Greenland but without optics it was impossible to say?
