The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Roper Lane

Looking west towards Withens Gap

Black clouds approaching, an end to the sun.

An attrocious day today as expected with sunshine , torrential showers and strong to gale force W>7.
A 15 minute watch this evening from Roper Lane at last light produced several Fieldfare moving in all directions but mainly ending up heading for the Ogden plantation to roost.
Several LBBs , Common and Black Headed gulls headed east probably making for Eccup whilst a few headed >NW towards Thornton Moor.
Hundreds of Jackdaws were feeding on the hillside before setting off for their roost at Wilsden and Hewenden.
